The June meeting was held at the residence of Elizabeth and Doug Good. President Elizabeth Good opened the meeting at 9:15 am. Quite a few members were in attendance. The Good’s backyard had a relaxing atmosphere, with a lushly planted koi pond and a smaller bog/quarantine. Their koi pond is 10x15 and 4’ deep and self built. A natural bog filter tops their waterfalls. The speaker was Kevin Caron, a construction worker turned water sculptor. He brought a handout of some of his work. His sculptures are very impressive and can be viewed on his website kevincaron.com. Many members availed themselves of the numerous free water plants brought by members. Photo contest winners were Karen Valenzuela, Donna Kovacich, Bonnie Conrad and Nancy Magee. |
